Having been born and raised in Mason Creek, I’ve been around cowboys my entire life.

Ranchers are part of the Montana scene.

But their cocky attitudes make me sprint in the opposite direction.

Until Bo Christianson comes to town.

His ability to rope cattle isn’t the only thing that captivates me.

Like all the others, I’m sure he is just another pretty face.

Except his charisma is undeniable.

He woos me with charming words and soon I’m falling for someone I swore wouldn’t happen.

Only Bo has some surprises up his sleeve.

And when he reveals his true self, will I flee from this perfect cowboy, or stay and risk everything?

Excerpt:

Her eyes saucered when I took a seat at her table. I held out my hand as I introduced myself. For a minute, I didn’t think she’d reciprocate. Then she said, “Hi, I’m Evvie.” She shook my hand but let it go immediately, as if I had the cooties.

Chuckling, I said, “Don’t worry. I wash my hands a lot. I don’t have any contagions either.”

“Nice to know.” Her tone was a bit salty. I didn’t know how I had offended her, so I went about finding out.

“Did I do something to upset you?”

“Really?”

“Yeah, I’d like to know.”

She eyed me like she suspected I was up to something. “All right. That comment you made about my muffins. That wasn’t exactly aboveboard.”

“Riiight. Sorry about that, but you do have some excellent muffins,” I said, trying not to laugh.

She smacked my arm. “This isn’t funny. You can’t go around telling women they have nice muffins.”

“Why not? I only do it when it’s the truth.” It was getting extremely difficult not to laugh.

“But that doesn’t matter. It’s sexist.”

“Oh boy, here we go. Women shouldn’t be so uptight about a compliment.”

She leaned back and crossed her arms. Sure, I was goading her. I knew it was sexist, but I wanted to see her reaction.

“Listen here, buddy. A compliment is when a man tells a woman she looks nice, or they like her hair or glasses or something. Telling her she has nice muffins is not a compliment.” She pushed her glasses up her nose.

“Why not?”

“What if I told you that you had a great sausage?”

I had just taken a sip of my coffee and ended up choking on it. After I swallowed, I howled with laughter. “Oh, God, that’s great. Truthfully, I’d be honored.”
